If you’re lucky enough — or, depending on your outlook, unlucky enough — to live in a place where the weather gets cold, then these pictures of pups romping through the snow may look like your typical winter.

Some dogs just absolutely love the cold and snow!

The dogs in the pictures below are running, jumping, and flying through the air, just loving the chilly weather! I think it’s pretty obvious that they are having so much fun!

30 Dogs Having Winter Fun

What types of outdoor activities do you like to do with your dog in winter?

Need some ideas? Here are some suggestions for fun things to do with your dog this season:

  • Hiking
  • Walking
  • Playing Fetch
  • Build a snow fort to play in
  • Build a snowman and a snow dog

Keep in mind:

Dogs with lean frames and short hair, such as Greyhounds and Chihuahuas, do not tolerate cold weather as well as breeds that have full, longer coats.

If your dog has short hair and tends to get cold when the weather dips, just make sure to put a sweater or coat on your pooch when you’re going to be in the cold for any length of time.

I have two small dogs who hate sweaters, coats, and booties. So when the weather gets really cold, you won’t see them outside for anything besides ultra-speedy bathroom breaks.

Breeds That Do Better In Cold Weather

Here are some dog breeds best suited for cold weather:

  • Alaskan Malamute
  • American Eskimo
  • Australian Shepherd
  • Bernese Mountain Dog
  • Border Collie
  • Welsh Corgi
  • Chow Chow
  • Cockapoo
  • Collie
  • German Shepherd Dog
  • Icelandic Sheepdog
  • Labradoodle
  • Old English Sheepdog
  • Pomeranian
  • Samoyed
  • Saint Bernard
  • Siberian Husky

The dogs in the pictures above sure seem to be having a great time. The main thing I noticed is that they were almost all running! Gotta keep that blood pumping to stay warm.
